She’s One of Those People . . .
with whom I can feel comfortable instantly. And my dear friend & my sister who came to our little meetup felt the same way. There was not one awkward lull in our conversation.
She is committed to her writing, & she goes camping regularly & sings with a folk music group. She is both California-hip & Midwestern-genuine. What could be better?
Because she’s thoughtful and thought-provoking. Because she might just inspire me to do the right thing. Because she has a social conscience and is doing something about it.
We had a nice lunch at the old Farmer’s Market in L.A. with her sister and her friend. How nice to find she’s just as lovely in person as she is online.
If you’re thinking about meeting her, it’s okay. She really is as short as she says she is. Not a 6’4” linebacker by any stretch of the imagination.

Cause she’s talented and engaged and witty and willing to take risks and is amazingly fresh and able to express gratitude.
I want to snip a lock of her hair and conjure one of those dogs from it. I’m pretty sure that’s how she got them…
I’d like to meet NYCinephile to thank him for enhancing my usage of 43Things.
Every time I check his recent comments, I see how he interacts with people on his Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I am grateful goal (that’s probably a paraphrase.) I admire this, and I’m taking up the practice myself on my similar goal (which doesn’t have “DAILY” at the front of it.) It’s a wonderful way to get to know people here.
Also, I would love to get some pointers from him about places to go in NYC the next time I manage to get there. It’s been so long for me. I think he knows things about the city that I would like to know too.
So, I can say “no problem!” But thanks for explaining, I had wondered. It turns out I’m already doing more walking than the program demanded, so I ditched it, too. And it was easier to ditch since you already had!
